Barista Training for Newcomer Youth with Starbucks Canada - 3-day course - March 2018

ACCES Employment has launched Barista Training for Newcomer Youth with Starbucks Canada. Looking for candidates for the course starting March 2018!

This is a 3-day course and one-on-one coaching to prepare refugee youth to work as a barista at Starbucks or in other customer service roles. ACCESS Employment is offering this program in partnership with Starbucks Canada.

TCDSB PSI/ Free Use of Space - March Break 2018

Priority Schools Initiative (PSI) – March Break from March 12th -16th, 2018.

Similar to this summer’s Focus on Youth program, the objective of the Priority School Initiative is to extend program opportunities for youth in various Toronto communities by offering free use of school space to community groups, not-for-profit organizations and other youth organizations. To qualify for the program, organizations must meet the following criteria:

·         Applicants must be recognized as not for profit or registered charity organization.

Job Readiness Program for Immigrant and Refugee Women

The Women Gaining Ground Job Readiness program will be running from January 22nd to February 1st 2018, location at 41 Chauncey Avenue.

The program is geared to newcomer, refugee and immigrant women who are seeking employment or just starting to consider pursuing a new career.

Testify: Indigenous Laws + the Arts is a celebration of Indigenous Laws as expressed through art. The dialogue invited by the “Testify” project puts the idea of reconciliation into practice by creating a space for Indigenous and non-Indigenous Canadians to dream a way forward which respects and reflects the diversity, strength and hope embodied within Indigenous traditions.

Young People’s Advisory Process

The Office of the Provincial Advocate for Children and Youth (the Advocate's Office) is seeking new young people who will help develop a formal Advisory Process for the Office.

The Advisory Process will be a structure to provide young people the opportunity to  give advice to the Office on its operation and activities, and help shape the manner in which other young people will give advice to the Office moving forward.
