New Children's Aid Foundation National Youth Scholarship Deadline April 21st, 2017 at 5:00 PM EST

We are excited to share a new ($2500 annually) scholarship opportunity from one of our national corporate partners. This scholarship is designed to reach youth affected by child welfare who have experienced all types of care or youth custody--not just Crown or Permanent Wards. You may know students who are eligible to apply for this scholarship and use the funds in addition to any scholarship/bursary funding they are receiving from us or other sources. We appreciate it if you can circulate the attached poster to your networks and youth widely ASAP-- the April 21st deadline is coming up very fast and we hope to get these funds to as many young people as possible. Find out more and view the application on our website.

What's different about this scholarship?

Unlike other scholarships for youth from care, for this national scholarship:

  • Students do not need Crown Ward/permanent care status for this scholarship; it is open to anyone who experienced 12 cumulative months in government care, including foster care and youth custody centres
  • Students are guaranteed renewed funding for the length of their program renewal
  • Students must be starting their first year of a 2-4 year program in September, 2017
  • Funds will be transferred directly to school to cover tuition
  • Students are eligible for job interview opportunities with the corporate partner (partner TBA shortly)
  • Enrollment--not grades--are a factor for this scholarship selection
