Children’s Program Worker Assistant

2-Part-Time Contract Positions

 

The Rexdale Community Health Centre (RCHC) is a multi-service centre providing primary health care, health promotion and community support services, including settlement and community development activities for families, children, youth, adults and seniors of diverse backgrounds. RCHC is recruiting for two part-time contract Children’s Program Worker Assistants to carry out program planning, outreach activities, and general administrative support.

 

Responsibilities and Related Tasks

 

  • Assist in the Children’s After School Program and all its components, (social, recreational, educational and mentoring)
  • Develop and implement an outreach plan to recruit and register children for the After School program
  • Help plan and facilitate daily educational sessions for children 6- 12 at satellite locations
  • Help coordinate special events, celebrations and field trips
  • Assist the Children’s Worker with daily attendance, maintaining statistics of individual information and other daily administrative related tasks
  • Assist in preparing a healthy snacks and ensure participants are all feed on a daily basis
  • Help develop a program evaluation tool and implement and complete the evaluation process
  • Assist in maintaining a tidy and safe program environment
  • Comply with agency policies, standards, guidelines and procedures

 

 

Qualifications:

  • At least 1-year work or volunteer experience planning and implementing programs for diverse children aged 6-12 years old in a community based setting
  • Must be able to provide a security clearance
  • Knowledge of the Central Etobicoke Community
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to function in a team setting
  • Demonstrated group facilitation skills
  • Great time management and organizational skills
  • A commitment to social change
  • Must be open minded and non-judgmental, and willing to learn
  • At least 1 years work experience planning and implementing programs for children of diverse cultures in a community based setting
  • Must have a good command of the English language
  • Ability to communicate in a Second language an asset

 

 

Salary: $12.00-$13.00 per hour 

Hours: Up to 12.5 hours per week

Starting date:  ASAP

Status: Non-unionized
