New language and residency rules for Canadian citizenship kick in next week

Starting Oct. 11, permanent residents will be eligible to apply for Canadian citizenship if they have lived in the country for three out of the previous five years.

Also, applicants over 55 years of age are once again exempt from the language and knowledge tests for citizenship under the amended citizenship regulations to be announced by Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen on Wednesday.

Monday, 1 May 2017 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM (EDT)

SafelyFed Canada is bringing TIGERS back to Toronto for one screening only. Premiering to critical acclaim at TIFF in 2014, TIGERS from Oscar-winning director Danis Tanovic is the real-life story of a young salesman whose life is changed when he realizes that the infant formula he is peddling to doctors with gifts and incentives has deadly consequences for the families of his city.

Transition year program F/W 17 - 18

The Transition Year Program is a special access program for youth 19+ and adults who are interested in attending university. The full-time academic program is designed to assist those individuals who have previously experienced social and academic barriers to university studies. Students who successfully complete the Transition Year Program receive credits towards undergraduate degree studies at York or that may be accepted as transfer credits to Ontario colleges or university programs.
