Community Safety Network Forum - June 10 2017

On June 10th 2017, the Community Crisis Response Program (CCRP) at the City of Toronto will be bringing together all stakeholders connected to safety networks across our city. The focus of the Community Safety Network Forum is to share best practices around responses to crisis and developing enhanced community safety strategies. It will also be an opportunity for members from different safety networks to connect and learn. The forum will be a full day event, from 10 am to 3:15 pm followed by the 2017 Mayor's Community Safety Awards from 3:30 to 5:00 pm.

SafelyFed Canada is bringing TIGERS back to Toronto for one screening only. Premiering to critical acclaim at TIFF in 2014, TIGERS from Oscar-winning director Danis Tanovic is the real-life story of a young salesman whose life is changed when he realizes that the infant formula he is peddling to doctors with gifts and incentives has deadly consequences for the families of his city.

Transition year program F/W 17 - 18

The Transition Year Program is a special access program for youth 19+ and adults who are interested in attending university. The full-time academic program is designed to assist those individuals who have previously experienced social and academic barriers to university studies. Students who successfully complete the Transition Year Program receive credits towards undergraduate degree studies at York or that may be accepted as transfer credits to Ontario colleges or university programs.

Free 8-week culinary skills training program

Frontlines is offering a free 8-week, culinary skills training program for youth ages 18-29. The program involves hands-on experience in the kitchen, baking, cooking, menu planning, and budgeting. Upon completion, students receive Safe Food Handler’s certificate, Smart Serve, etc.
