Youth Referrals -- Frontlines Catering Careers Training (FREE)

Please see attached flyer for details. Frontline provides a free 8-week training course for youth between 18-29 years old (who are out of school and unemployed) to learn about essential culinary skills, receive in-kitchen experience and be connected to job opportunities in the field. They will also receive their Food Handlers and Smart Serve certifications.

YouthConnect 2017 on August 18, 2017

On August 18, 2017, the CivicAction Leadership Foundation, LinkedIn Canada, Ryerson University, and the City of Toronto are partnering to host YouthConnect 2017. A free one day event that equips those working with youth with the knowledge and skills to help their clients “get digital” and connect with people and jobs online.

Youth to Post-Secondary (Y2P) program

The Youth to Post-Secondary (Y2P) program is currently intaking students for September 2017!

Y2P is a free upgrading program geared to youth ages 18 to 30.  It provides a strong wrap-around support system to enable the students to become more successful as they prepare for college or other post-secondary options. Some of these supports include free counselling, subsidized meal services, and free tutoring, among other supports.

THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX 1 week Summer Camp

Please see the attached flyer for THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX one week summer camp. Students will attend Humber College and learn about the various departments within the school. They will have the opportunity visit the coding department and learn how to code robots, Humber Radio station and meet with the radio host. Additionally, they will learn about bursaries, scholarships and OSAP application and procedures.

There are two session dates available with limited spaces.

Steps to Justice training at the next Youth Justice Network Meeting on Tuesday June 20, 2017

Please note there will be a training session delivered by Community Legal Education Ontario geared towards Frontline Youth Workers at the next upcoming Youth Justice Network meeting.  The meeting will be taking place on Tuesday June 20, 2017 from 3pm – 5pm at the Leave Out Violence office location at 3130 Bathurst Street, Suite 202 Toronto, Ontario.
